in summer Leucauge subblanda (Tetragnathidae) [Japanese name : ko shirokane-gumo]
Although L.celebesiana weaves its web above streams generally, but L.subblanda weaves its web on a tree and the grass of a woodland path without water. Since the spider hangs down from a horizontal orb web, we see the face under the body of the spider. It is a beautiful spider. The surface of spider has a pattern of black stripes silver in color and its legs are green. The length is 9-11 mm. It is found throughout Japan. |
